What is the Socknet Not
From The Socknet
- The Socknet is not about the Socknet, it's about the users and the web that they use every day.
- The Socknet is not interested in money. Although its participants may make money, the Socknet is devoted to the users.
- The Socknet is not proprietary. Developers can add anything to it.
- The Socknet is not under control.
- The Socknet is not restricted by someone else's laws. The Internet doesn't work that way. You do not have to live that way.
- The Socknet cannot restrict your speech, because even if no one else will host your content, you can be your own provider. On the other hand, you can filter any content that tries to reach you.
- The Socknet does not own your data. You always own your data and you can take it away whenever you want. Leave the network or just use a different provider (and easily take your data with you). (But remember: what happens on the web, stays on the web.)
- The Socknet is not a platform for apps. The web is already a platform. The Socknet allows any website to communicate with a user's Socknet profile, but it gives users complete control over this.
- The Socknet is not a walled garden.
