Time to Implement?

I'd like to begin a Socknet provider implementation soon so that we can use practical knowledge to identify what needs to change.

Comments?

Hosting?

We need to find hosting for this first implementation, preferably free for now. I imagine we know some folks who'd be willing to donate some hosting while the userbase is still miniscule.

Growth Technologies is allowing us to use hosting.thatsus.com (which is where this wiki is). --Dan 15:09, 11 November 2009 (UTC)

Time to "Go Public"?

By "Go Public", I mean, open up the wiki for public viewing, not necessary to announce the protocol to the world.

Opening up the wiki may help us get some others on board and may even inspire someone else to begin another Socknet implementation.

This is happening tonight. --Dan 14:57, 11 November 2009 (UTC)

Language?

We've all got our faves. I vote for Perl, but we should probably use something most of us are familiar with. Eventually, someone needs to pump out a Socknet library for all the major languages: Java, Perl, PHP, Ruby. We can ignore the languages that sux0r. ;)

The plan as of now is to use Perl/Catalyst. I'm warming up to it with another project and I trust that this will take off quickly. --Dan 17:31, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
